The Kindle Paperwhite waterproof edition enables you to read in even more places. Created with a 300 pixels per inch (PPI), Carta E-Ink touchscreen, a built-in light that won't tire your eyes and a long battery life, the Kindle Paperwhite provides great readability, with font sizes to suit your mood. Built-in light Paperwhite features an innovative built-in light to deliver a brighter, evenly-lit display. It guides light from above towards the display instead of projecting it towards the users eyes like with a traditional backlit display, reducing the chance of screen fatigue. It also illuminates the screen instead of the entire room, so you can read in the dark without disturbing others. E-ink touch screen Designed to look and read like real paper, Kindle's E-Ink screen features a matte screen and no backlighting, preventing glare so you can read just as easily at the beach as you would in your living room. The responsive touch grid allows you to interact with menus, settings and even highlight words and phrases simply by touching the screen. Recharge once a month, not once a day Kindle Paperwhite benefits from an incredibly long battery life. You'll be able to go for six weeks without needing to recharge. The included USB cable makes it simple to recharge too- simply plug into any chargeable USB port or plug adapter to reinvigorate your Kindle's battery. Paperwhite can download books through your computer and the supplied USB cable, or directly onto your device using Wi-Fi, either at home or through Wi-Fi hotspots. Downloads are quick and easy, with books available to read in as little as 60 seconds. You can store thousands of books on a Kindle Paperwhite, so you can move from one book to the next with ease. It'll also help substantially reduce luggage weight for keen holiday readers! Waterproof design The Kindle Paperwhite has a IPX8 rating, which means it's protected against immersion in up to 2 metres of fresh water for up to 60 minutes. It can also withstand splashes when you're on the beach or by the pool. If your Kindle gets wet If your Kindle is splashed with water, just wipe the water off with a soft cloth. If your Kindle is immersed in water, please remove its cover, make sure no cables are plugged into the device and do not attempt to charge your Kindle until it is completely dry. If your Kindle is immersed in salt water, chlorinated water, soapy water or liquids other than fresh water, make sure you rinse that liquid out of the device with fresh water such as cold tap water, then dry your Kindle. What steps should I take to dry my Kindle? To dry your Kindle, please let the water drain out through the micro-USB port, gently tapping the side of the device as necessary. Amazon recommends you also let your Kindle dry fully in a well-ventilated location, with it standing upright so that any excess water can continue to drain from the micro-USB port. Do not attempt to dry your Kindle with an external heat source, such as a microwave oven or hairdryer. Do not insert a foreign object, such as a cotton bud or paper towel, into the micro-USB port to dry it. Thought about Added Care?
