Schmidt-Cassegrain Catadioptric Optical Design
Celestron is built to a standard that corresponds to the one necessary for professional astronomical observations and an impressive optical performance. This telescope features a Schmidt-Cassegrain catadioptric optical design that consists of a primary mirror, a secondary mirror, and a corrector plate, which together reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations. It further improves colour rendition, sharpness, resolution, and clarity from edge to edge. Additionally, with a 1500 mm effective focal length, you can easily observe deep space objects with sharp clarity.
StarBright XLT Coating System
Designed for clarity, the Celestron VX telescope features multi-coated optics. There’s a broadband system that offers a flat wavelength transmission across the whole visual spectrum, affording you crisp visuals. In addition to this, the StarBright coating allows for maximum light transmission throughout the optical assembly. Not only does this deliver brighter visuals, but it also improves colour rendition, contrast, sharpness, and overall resolution of the images. Plus, further reducing the loss of light from the optical tube is the white glass corrector plate
Vixen-Style Mount
The Vixen-style mount is a feat of engineering, providing stability and support to the attached gadget in just the right spots. The VX mount has a maximum load capacity of 13.6 kg, allowing working with heavy accessories. Adding to its versatility, this mount features dual-axis DC servo motors that ensure efficient and precise tracking. Also, the mount features a 7 to 77 degrees latitude range, enabling you to track below the meridian point while observing from a hilltop, balcony, or rooftop.
Robust Tripod
Celestron is all about manufacturing intuitive products, and this tripod is no different. Featuring three-section stainless steel legs, this rugged tripod maintains optimum balance on all types of terrains. The diameter of each leg is 2” (5 cm) and has a maximum height adjustment of 162 cm. For convenience, this tripod has a centre tray, allowing you to keep and manage all your eyepieces. It further promotes stability by locking the legs.
